PROGRAMS: Pink Ribbon Journey is more than just a book! Our outreach and advocacy programs educate women about breast health and cancer related issues. We engage, empower and inspire! We strive to teach people how to thrive in any life-changing event. By raising awareness, we help empower others to take control of their own health and guide them on how to comfort and support someone they know with a life-threatening or chronic disease.
Power Of The Written Word: Talking and writing about a life-changing event are positive tools for healing and thriving. In this program we offer a reading and group discussion on how the PIRJ stories relate to similar experiences in our own lives. After the reading, guests are given the opportunity to write and share their own Note From The Heart.
Finding Hope & Healing in Your Cancer Journey: Drawing from the experiences of the women and men featured in her acclaimed book Pink Ribbon Journey, and also from her own breast cancer journey, Norma offers insight into the different ways patients and their families cope with and heal from a cancer diagnosis.
The Hidden Genes - What's Lurking in the Back of Your Closet?: Nine women. Three generations. In this powerful and moving speech Norma shares her family's extraordinary 50 year journey with breast cancer and the unknown mystery of why BRCA negative family members are being diagnosed with breast cancer.
Being Good to Your Girls: In this popular program, Norma will join with a breast imager and a "green living" advocate from your own community in a panel discussion about early detection, breast screening, genetic testing, living "green" to reduce a risk of breast cancer, and how to support someone you know who has breast cancer.
Cocktails & Conversation: A private book signing, reading, and chat with the author and your guests. We will donate 20% of proceeds to a breast cancer charity of your choice. (Must be a registered 501c3 charity)
